SEATTLE: LSU vs Washington
Our latest adventure was last weekend when we went to Seattle to see LSU play Washington. All I can say is: WOW! Seattle was beautiful! On Wednesday, Jeanne and Kris came in town and we cooked out at our house. We all left on Thursday for our crazy weekend! Thursday, Christopher and I got to Seattle around 4:00 and checked into the Renaissance downtown. We headed down to a bar called Zig Zag where we heard had the best happy hour in town, and they were right. Great drinks, but they were not prepared for the LSU fans that soon took over the bar and proceeded to chant L-S-U every moment they could. Jeanne, Kris, Christopher and I headed down to the pier where we ate incredible Halibut at Anthony's 66 diner. It was incredible seafood and overlooked the bay, so it was a perfect start to our weekend. We then headed back to greet Stephen and Whitney St. Pierre at the hotel upon their arrival from Chicago. The next morning we started at the Pike Place Market to watch the fish being thrown.
It was really funny! The guys only throw fish if someone buys it and we did a little waiting since everyone standing there were LSU fans and tourists. We were shocked at all the LSU fans. They pretty much took over Seattle! We went to a local dive called Lowell's in the market to eat MORE seafood! We were told to eat seafood the whole time we were in Seattle, so we did!
We then took a ferry over to Bainbridge Island where the million dollar homes over look the bay and have an amazing view.
We hit the local pub, but realized pretty quickly LSU fans had taken over the pub of this small community. We were EVERYWHERE!
After a long day, me, Christopher, Stephen and Whitney at the best meal when we went to Palisade for dinner.
It was an amazing meal and of course I had the best Halibut I think I have ever eaten! Christopher got the crab stuffed prawns! We both ate pretty well, that's for sure!
The next day was a football filled day at FOX sports bar where, again, they were not prepared for the LSU fans to take over. They happened to run out of several beers, vodka and bourbon. My uncle Kris made a statement as you can see in the pics.
The rest of the pictures speak for themselves. We took the metro bus (free for game day ticket holders) and headed to Washington campus where LSU had an amazing tailgate sponsored by the Seattle alumni association.
The game was okay because we won, but the fans were a little upset at the way we played. It was not easy to watch, but a win is a win! GEAUX TIGERS!
